Distribution
============
Do not host this on your website. Please link to my web page instead:

http://projectcerbera.com/gta/2/multislayer/

This way, everyone has the same files when they play online.

Install
=======
1. Unzip (extract) the "slayer6.zip" file to your "C:\Program Files\GTA2\data\" folder.
2. Install GTA2 v11.40 or higher so the Army for MultiSlayer City work in multiplayer.
   Get it here: http://gtamp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=73

If you do not use GTA2 Game Hunter:

3. Open your "C:\Program Files\GTA2\data\audio" folder.
4. Make a copy of "STE.SDT" and "STE.RAW".
5. Rename the copied files to "slayer.sdt" and "slayer.raw".

Creating a Game
===============
Look in the list for:

* MultiSlayer
* MultiSlayer BUSTED!
* MultiSlayer Cage
* MultiSlayer Cops vs Robbers
* MultiSlayer Football
* MultiSlayer Ghetto
* MultiSlayer Graveyard
* MultiSlayer Ship

They all work in multiplayer with 2-6 players. You can learn them in single player.

Single Player
=============
1. Start GTA2 Game Hunter v1.5 or higher.
   Get it here: http://gtamp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8
2. Click "Create Game".
3. Choose the level. (You'll see the preview images if you put them in your data folder.)
4. Click "Create Game".
5. The "Network GTA2" window appears.
6. Press "Start".

IMPORTANT: MultiSlayer (ms.gmp) does not work with "Play Alone" due to the custom zone names.

You can only usie "Play Alone" for the arena levels, not the full city games.

Players
=======
Host is always player 1. Other players follow the order they joined in.

1  Red     Russian Mafia
2  Orange  Krishna
3  Yellow  Scientist
4  Green   Loonie
5  Blue    Yakuza
6  Black   Zaibatsu

Gameplay
========
MultiSlayer has been created with the assistance of highly skilled players who I have met online. Their different styles of play and their development of sophisticated techniques has allowed me to design MultiSlayer to challenge some of the very best talent around. They love it, so I hope you will too!

All weapons have maximum ammo. They respawn instantly or very quickly.

MultiSlayer
-----------
The main island is wide but quite thin. The total area is about 25% the size a full GTA2 district. But it includes many carefully designed landscapes with lots of weapons.

Each arena is part of the main city. You can drive between the arenas having staged battles, or just play normal matches.

If you have a points game with Cops turned On, all the players can fight together. See how many cops, SWAT and FBI you can kill! 250,000 points and 30 minutes are good settings for these games.

Weapons:

 2 S-UZI (99)
10 Rocket Launcher (99)
 1 Electro Gun (99)
 4 Molotov (99)
 6 Flamethrower (99)
 2 Vehicle Machine Guns (99)
 7 Health (100%)
 5 Armour (10 hits)
 2 Police Bribe (0 wanted level)
 2 Invulnerability (1 minute)
 2 Double Damage (1 minute)
 7 Fast Reload (1 minute)

Vehicle shops from West to East:

1 Vehicle Bomb Shop (1)
1 Vehicle Machine Guns Shop (10)
1 Respray Shop (Pink)
1 Vehicle Mines Shop (10)
1 Oil Slicks Shop (10)

Special vehicles:

4 Army Jeep (70 roof gun rounds and unlimited flamethrower)
1 FBI Car (99 vehicle machine gun)
1 Fire Truck (unlimited flamethrower)
1 G4 Bank Van (99 oil slicks)
1 Krishna Bus (99 vehicle machine gun)
4 Pacifier (nearly invulnerable)
1 Sports Limo (99 oil slicks)
1 SWAT Van (99 oil slicks)
6 Tank (70 cannnon)
1 Z-Type (70 vehicle machine gun)

Parked vehicles:

1 Ambulance
6 Big Bug
1 Bulwark
1 Fire Truck
1 G4 Bank Van
2 Police Car
6 Stinger (player start cars)
3 Semi Trailer

Trains:

There is a subway station in the North, East, South and West.

* If you stand on the tracks they will electrocute you.
* Each station creates a train.
* Each train has a different set of carriages.
* You can drive in the tunnels and they are wide enough to avoid hitting the trains.
* Trains do not respawn if you destroy them.

MultiSlayer Race
----------------
A bit like Bernaar's Race. You follow a long, fenced-in route around MultiSlayer City:

* Up to 6 people can play.
* Play at Noon or at Dusk.
* Choose from 24 cars at the start.
* To start a race, either:
  * start as soon as you get a car;
  * or line up at East traffic lights and wait for green;
  * or type a countdown message.
* Your car is repaired at the 2 respray zones, unless you drive police car.
* Finish each race with a big jump and $100,000!
* Race as many times as you want during each game...until you run out of cars, time or reach the Points target!

A 300,000 points game means the first player to finish 3 races will win the game.

Cage
-----
Fight inside steelwork of a hotel which is being built. A claustrophobic level where all players get unlimited rocket launcher. It's like Pure Zooka Arena crossed with MultiSlayer Ship.

Football
--------
A stadium on the edge of Farpoint Peak. It's about the size of a 5-a-side pitch and is fine with only 2 players. There are no weapons. If a player leaves the game, their character will run around and interfeer. Use the Fire Truck in the corridor to the North to kill them.

Dribble the ball by running into it. Run backwards over the ball for a big kick. Aiming is based on the path your player takes over the ball. This might not be the direction you are facing. You'll figure it with practice and advice from other players.

The level lets you play however you want. Here are some games I've played multiplayer or single player.

Practice:
All players are on the same team. Start at one end of the pitch. Dribble and pass the ball until you reach the far end of the pitch. Then try to score. Once you have scored, do the same thing in the opposite direction.

Penalties:
One player goes in goal. Other players try to score a goal from the penalty spot. An accurate shot will nearly always score but they are quite hard to do. Also, perfect save from the goalkeeper will stop the ball.

Goalie:
One player is the goalkeeper. All the other players try to score in that goal. The person who scores becomes the new goalkeeper.

Match:
Players decide which teams they are on. You kick ball from center and try to score. If you score, the other team gets a center kick.

Car Football:
This arena is present in the South West of the main MultiSlayer city. Drive to it and use stairs to East and South to drop into the pitch. You can get out by using the corridor to the North and running West.

Ghetto
------
A run-down area on the border between Downtown and McCranish Wharf. A highly tactical level with a variety of noisy weapons. There is a Fast Reload but it's difficult to reach and you are vulnerable on the way out.

You respawn on rooftops which massively reduces spawnkills. You can jump between rooves to drop in at a better location.

Weapons:

3 Machine Gun (99)
4 Rocket Launcher (99)
2 Molotov Cocktail (99)
1 Fast Reload (double rate of fire)

Special vehicles:

1x FBI Car with Vehicle Machine Guns (99, respawns if destroyed)

Graveyard
---------
Eternity Meadows is on the North-west coast of MultiSlayer. The private section with tombs and memorials is where this rocket arena takes place. You respawn on the 3 biggest tombs, which almost eliminates spawnkills. You can jump between tombs and trees to drop down at a better location.

Weapons:

6 Rocket Launcher (99)

Ship
----
Port Pluto, in the North East of MultiSlayer, has a large container ship docked. This creates an interesting rocket arena. Open areas surround the cabin and long conveyors go along the middle of the deck. On either side are tight spaces between containers.

You respawn on the cabin or the boxes, which almost eliminates spawnkills. You can jump between boxes to drop down at a better location, such as near Fast Reload.

Weapons:

6 Rocket (99)
3 Fast Reload (1 minute)

Credits
=======

Delfi:
Converting the GTA1 Vice City textures into GTA2 format, converting the initial GTA1.CMP version of MultiSlayer into the GTA2.GMP format, plus creating the amazing "StyTool" for editing the GTA2 texture archive and helping me use it. Oh, I used his tool for writing and compiling the SCR files, which I had to learn for this version.

TM:
Epic GTA2 Map Editor for placing objects and taking screenshots.

Illspirit:
Writing the first SCR file and creating the first multiplayer versions with me. He also made those killer green-and-white signs for the car shops and special texture variants for 45 degree edges.

S3ktor:
Providing me with support for the scripting, including some excellent code samples.

Pyro:
Helping set up the trains and proof-reading this file!

Mewish, Tiago, Ijara, King, Elypter and many others:
Finding bugs and play-testing the map. Check the website for all testers and contributors.

Rockstar Games:
Releasing their map and script editor programs and supplying all the documentation, too. Do the same for GTA4, please!
